Deepening Transparency and Accountability
On 16th and 17th September 2025, Transparency & Accountability Lab took part in two important meetings held in Choma, organized by Panos Institute Southern Africa.
The first was the Data Protection Act Information Session which helped participants understand the law, its impact on citizens, civil society, and the media, and how it can be implemented in a rights-based way.
We also joined the Access to Information Law discussions, which highlighted the importance of open access to information for democracy, accountability, and citizen participation.
These meetings created space for civil society, government,media, and communities to work together in promoting transparency, protecting freedoms, and strengthening good governance, accountability, and citizen participation.
