TAL Launches Activating Youth Voices For Accountability Project In Choma
Transparency & Accountability Lab (TAL) is excited to announce its much-anticipated Activating Youth Voices for Accountability Project, officially launched on 11th September 2026 in Choma District.
The project, supported by the European Union, ActionAid Zambia and Restless Development, seeks to strengthen youth accountability structures and enhance meaningful youth engagement with the local authority and other duty bearers.
The initiative targets young people in four wards of Choma District: Macha, Siamaambo, Kulundana and Batoka, equipping them with the knowledge, skills and platforms to actively participate in governance processes, demand transparency and promote accountability in their communities.
Speaking during the launch, Choma Town Clerk, Mr Davies Musenge, commended TAL for initiating the project and pledged the local authority’s support. He encouraged young people to take advantage of the opportunity, emphasising that youth voices matter in decisions that shape community development.
The launch brought together key stakeholders and representatives from civil society organisations, government institutions, youth groups and the media.
Through this initiative, TAL reaffirms its commitment to building a generation of informed, empowered and active young citizens who do not merely observe governance but participate in shaping it.
Young people are not just leaders of tomorrow; they are accountability actors and development partners today. Their voices must count!
